Jari Moberg got into surf/beat -music somewhere in '70s, when he heard "Walk Don't Run '64" by The Ventures from the radio with his friends. After this he started a hunt through the world to get his hands on albums by The Ventures (as they weren't considered to be highly rated music in Finland) and started to play music. After some different line-ups The Chameleons was formed and it adopted it's name from an album by The Ventures. Hannu Könönen joined the band later on as a bass player. The band rocked for a few years, gigged around the capital area and released Rautalanka Records's first single. In the mid '80s, Jari was asked to join The Creepers (founded by Hannu and Marko). Besides listening to The Ventures, Jari likes surf and Finnish beat/instrumental such as Agents. Also, he listens to contemporary music of the day, while still digging mostly music from the '60s and the '70s. Especially Italian music creates heated conversations amongst the band...

Jukka Väisänen

Mosrite Ventures Model & Fender bass

Just like Samu, also Jukka promised to come to band only for few gigs. But all went so well that he wanted to come for good.

He got great history with many Finnish bands like Husky & Sandman, Dangermens, Jymy…

Jukka has a wonderful voice so of course he is also The Charades´ singer at few songs at gigs. Vocal stuff is great rock & beat songs from 60´s.

Samu Wuori

Mosrite, Aria Ventures Model Guitar, Telecaster

Rhythm Guitarist Samu has been in many Finnish bands. He’s first music influence has been The Shadows. He found he’s fathers album, and after that he also wanted to play guitar.

At first Samu promised to help us with our Italian and England Tour, but everything went so well that Samu wanted to join the band.

During the first month at the Charades Samu had to learn about 50 new songs, record the Cool Blast! CD, record live DVD and make tour in Finland, Italy and England!!! Quite rush star at the band…

Arto Mäkelä

Mosrite, Telecaster and Stratocaster

Our new lead guitarist is professional guitarist and guitar teacher.

Arto has been in many record sessions, but best known is Paavo & Zephyr. He also has made lot´s of gigs with many big names in Finland and he has played with many bands example G-Agent –soul band.

In rock instrumental scene, Arto heard first music from the Shadows and at his youth he listen lot´s of Shadows´ stuff from C-cassettes.

After that he got to know Laika & The Cosmonauts´Absurdian and that was really a big thing for him. Later he has listen also lot´s of the Ventures and Dick Dale.

Arto came to the Charades at the end of 2007 and after few rehearsing he was ready to play at the Charades next album.
